My Vision as the Orange County Board of Education Trustee for District 5
A Student Centered Focus
Making school safety and student wellness a priority
Protecting parent rights to school choice, including nonprofit charter schools
Linking K-12 to College and Career
I grew up like many of today’s students unsure about the future, coping with family challenges, and seeking to establish myself as a young adult. I grew up believing that college was vital to my growth as a well-rounded individual and critical to my success as a productive citizen. I began my educational career at a community college, transferring to a UC earning a B.S., and then earning two master’s degrees from CSU, and currently completing a master’s degree in public administration. My college path was not easy in terms of financial stress, time commitment while working, and family obligations. I overcame these hurdles through hard work, perseverance and resiliency.
I am an experienced public school site-administrator, counselor, director of a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit organization, and have volunteered as a CASA advocate and education foundation board member.
I will be an active trustee, not beholden to any political party, will represent the public interest, and will always put students first. I humbly ask for your vote.
