Knife-Wielding Man Arrested in Dana Point Near Donut Shop

Police arrested a 33-year-old unemployed man after receiving a call about an unknown individual exposing a knife near a liquor store behind Dana Point Donut World. The man was reportedly waving around a 6-inch serrated weapon and threatening to kill people. The incident took place on Sun., Jan. 1, at 4:29 p.m. off Doheny Park Road and Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point.

Shots heard 10:36 p.m. Sunday. 0 block of Siros. Two gunshots were heard coming from the Marina Hills Drive area.

Traffic accident — arrest made 4:05 a.m. Sunday. Camino Capistrano/Freeway 73. Police arrested a 20-year-old cashier after investigating a traffic accident. The woman was later cited and released.

Disturbance 1:31 p.m. Sunday. 34000 block of Selva Road in Dana Point. A caller told police they heard a woman threaten to hogtie and kill everyone during an argument with her boyfriend.

Petty theft report 11:24 a.m. Sunday. 25300 block of Perch Drive in Dana Point. A paddle board was reported stolen.

Citizen assist 7:07 p.m. Saturday. La Paz Road/Aliso Creek Road. A road rage incident was reported.

Vandalism report 2:30 p.m. Saturday. 29400 block of Castle Road. A caller reported that vandals struck off La Plata Drive.

Burglary report 8:16 a.m. Saturday. 30000 block of Alicia Parkway. A burglary was reported off the cross streets of Alicia Parkway and Niguel Road.

Disturbance family dispute — arrest made 10:56 p.m. Friday. 28800 block of Westport Way. After two individuals were detained after a family dispute, authorities arrested a 37-year-old CEO. The man was later released from custody after posting bail.

Drunk driving — arrest made 10:33 p.m. Friday. Paseo La Vista/Paseo De Colinas.  After pulling over a vehicle with a potential drunk driver, police arrested a 41-year-old baker. The man was later cited and released.

Investigate person down 3:13 a.m. Friday. Crown Valley Parkway/Greenfield Drive. Police received a call from help regarding a man bleeding on the ground.
