Ladera Ranch Treasure, Grandma Mac, Celebrates 108th Birthday

Well, when you turn 108, perhaps having firefighters around to help you blow out your candles is a good idea! Happy Birthday, Grandma Mac!

LADERA RANCH, CA — Ladera Ranch's oldest resident celebrated her 108th birthday on Friday. Orange County Fire Authority Firefighters were on hand to help her blow out her candles.

"Grandma Mac had her birthday celebration at her home in Heritage Park," OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi said.

Born in 1910, "Grandma Mac" was a "very caring nurse for many years," Concialdi told us. She is still caring for those around her.

Grandma Mac wore a junior firefighter's helmet and colorful boas, enjoyed her cake with family and friends.

She is young at heart, and continues to maintain little daily goals, as she had done for years, according to Patch contributor Amy Hoffman.
