Laguna Hills Home Saved Thanks To Neighbor's Calls
An aware neighbor noticed smoke rising from a 2 story residence in Laguna Hills. OCFA was able to spare the house in this Tuesday fire.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — What would you do if you saw smoke coming from a neighbor's home? Calling 911 could spare a home from total loss. That's what happened in a Laguna Hills neighborhood, Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, neighbors reported smoke coming out of the house. 24500 of Mandeville Drive, Laguna Hills according to Orange County Fire Authority Captain Larry Kurtz.
"22 OCFA firefighters were on the scene, and had the fire under control in less than 20 minutes," Kurtz said. The fire was isolated to the residence's master bedroom and bathroom.

The cause is still under investigation, according to Kurtz. No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

"Two individuals from the residence were temporarily displaced, but are being taken care of," Kurtz said.

No pets were injured, according to Kurtz.
There was an estimated $100,000 damage to the structure, and $75,000 in contents damage according to investigators.
The cause of the fire remain under investigation as of Wednesday.
