Laguna Niguel's New Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem Sworn Into Office

After a rocky meeting start, Tuesday's city council meeting, Laguna Niguel's new mayor, and mayor pro tem, were sworn into office.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — The Laguna Niguel City Council meeting began with a rocky start, with a reading of city councilman Jerry Slusiewicz's letter of resignation from the council after two terms of service. A bullet or other projectile through his office was the reason given, according to his letter of resignation.

Afterward, a visibly shaky council settled into their regular meeting which was capped off with a happier note for the city.

Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett delivered the oath of office to Mayor Elaine Gennawey and Mayor Pro Tem John Mark Jennings.
