Landslide Dumps More Dirt In South OC, Affecting Tidepools: Report
A cul-de-sac on Avenida Columbo in San Clemente dropped about five feet and sent mud and debris at least 150 feet below, reports said.
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — Residents of a South Orange County neighborhood were concerned Friday when a part of a cul-de-sac in San Clemente dropped roughly five feet, sending mud and debris at least 150 feet below, The Orange County Register reported.
The area is an active landslide on private property in the Presidio-Columbo neighborhood that has had ongoing movement for several decades, Dave Rebensdorf, the city's assistant engineer, told the newspaper.
In Dana Point, some mud and other debris slid from a cliff next to the Ocean Institute near the tidepools, City Manager Mike Killebrew told The OC Register.
