Longstanding South OC Restaurant Closes During Harbor Renovation
El Torito restaurant inside the Dana Point Harbor will close its doors after 39 years in business.

DANA POINT, CA — A longstanding business inside the Dana Point Harbor will close its doors after 39 years in business, after El Torito restaurant announced that its last day will be Wednesday, Jan. 3.
The closure is a result of the ongoing Dana Point Harbor redevelopment project. Randy Sharpe, president and CEO of Xperience Restaurant Group — the group that owns the Mexican dining chain — told The Orange County Register that there was no offer of lease renewal from the developers.
“The whole harbor is being redeveloped, so there was no offer of lease renewal,”Sharpe told The Orange County Register. “So, it was pretty simple.”
