Man With Knife Steals And Flees From Laguna Niguel Business

Authorities are searching for a man who reportedly "displayed a knife" while stealing from a Laguna Niguel business Saturday afternoon.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — The Orange County Sheriff's Department is seeking a suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred at a Laguna Niguel business Saturday afternoon. The suspect reportedly "displayed a knife" at the business before stealing product, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

The suspect is still at-large, the OCSD said on Twitter. No injuries related to the robbery have since been reported.

While "smash-and-grab" crimes have plagued the Golden State as of late, with flash mobs of thieves descending on stores across California, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported that the robbery was an isolated incident with no relation to the trending crime.

"This was an isolated incident and involved a single suspect," The OCSD reported on Twitter. "There were no 'smash and grabs' or other related incidents at any nearby businesses."

When deputies arrived to the scene near Heather Ridge and Avila Road, they requested additional support through the OCSD Air Support division and the OCSD K-9 Unit.

After an exhaustive search, authorities were unable to locate the suspect.
