Man Stabbed 18-Year-Old In Groin In South Orange County, Deputies Say

The 18-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing another 18-year-old in the groin in San Clemente.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — A Santa Ana man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old in the groin in San Clemente, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported Monday.

Authorities were dispatched to the 2000 block of Avenida Del Presidente at 12:17 a.m. Jan. 20 in regard to repots of a stabbing, the OCSD said in a statement.

Upon arriving, deputies found the victim — an 18-year-old man who was not identified by name — bleeding from a single stab wound to his groin.

Authorities immediately began lifesaving measures, but the victim died of his wound and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, deputies said.

Later that day, deputies arrested the sole suspect in the incident, 18-year-old Joshua Guadalupe Garcia, of Santa Ana. Authorities also said a knife was found, and further investigation will determine whether or not it was used in the homicide.

"The relationship between Garcia and the victim and the reason he attacked him is still under investigation," the OCSD said in a statement.
