Millions Lost In Laguna Hills Storage Unit Fire: OCFA

The figures are staggering as the damages were at last calculated from the Laguna Hills Public Storage Unit fire. Millions were lost.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA — Cleanup has given way to insurance claims after the huge fire early this week in Laguna Hills. On Sunday, an early morning fire began at a Public Storage business for unknown reasons. Over 100 responders from multiple agencies answered the call to handle the ferocious blaze.The aftermath has left disastrous numbers for the facility.

"The fire caused about $6 million in damage, Orange County Fire Authority captain Steve Concialdi said, Thursday.

The fire at the storage facility in the 25000 block of Costeau Street started just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The blaze caused $5 million in damage to the structure and about $1 million to the contents stored in it, OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi said.

In all, about 136 units sustained some form of water, smoke or fire damage, Concialdi said.

Patch has attempted to contact Lizanne Jankowski, District Manager of Public Storage of South Orange County, though she was not available for comment as of this report.
