Mission Viejo and Inland Orange County Wind Warning
An urgent weather alert for Mission Viejo from the National Weather Service San Diego as strong offshore winds blow through Orange County.

MISSION VIEJO, CA —Strong westerly winds are expected Wednesday evening across inland Orange County and the northern Inland Empire according to the National Weather Service San Diego. Mission Viejo is among the areas expected to see winds from 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour according to the report.
"A cold front will move across southern California tonight and create strong westerly winds over portions of the region," the National Weather Service warning said. "The strongest winds will be in the mountains and deserts, particularly on ridgetops, desert slopes and parts of the high desert this afternoon and evening."
Starting Thursday morning, early, Inland Orange County will see strong northeast winds, decreasing through Thursday afternoon.

Mission Viejo, the Santa Ana Mountain areas, and Rancho Cucamonga will be under wind advisory warnings from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday. Gusts of up to 60 miles per hour are expected, and sustained winds of 35 miles per hour are likely.
Strong winds will impact high profile vehicles, and can cause minor damage to trees, according to the National Weather Service. Use extra caution, as winds this strong can make driving difficult.
