MNWD Presents Third Annual Live Smart Community Event
Free public event to provide water-efficient, energy-saving and emergency preparedness resources

The Moulton Niguel Water District (MNWD) proudly presents its third annual Live Smart Community Event on Saturday, May 13 from 10:00am – 2:00pm at the Laguna Niguel Civic Center. In today’s world where we constantly aspire to “live smart” with devices and apps – and certainly with the way we use water – MNWD strives to share with its community all the different ways to save water, energy and money.
In partnership with the City of Laguna Niguel this year, the fun, family-friendly event will provide communities, cities, local utilities and businesses an opportunity to share ideas and resources for “living smarter” through water efficiency practices, emergency preparedness, energy-saving devices, and much more. The Live Smart Community Event is a free event open to all ages.
“We are excited to host our third annual Live Smart Community Event,” said MNWD Board President Donald R. Froelich. “Live Smart is a great opportunity for the public to enjoy and learn how the District and its partners are continuing to work together to help provide essential services to our community.”

As California looks to adopt a permanent, long-term water-efficient lifestyle, the Live Smart Community Event will showcase several technologies and tools to assist residents and businesses in achieving this goal, such as: MyWater MNWD, a web and app-based portal to help MNWD customers manage and take control of their water usage; Smart Irrigation Timers that automatically adjust the amount of water needed in response to changing weather conditions; and much more.
New this year, MNWD will provide resources and information to ensure communities are prepared for emergencies. Whether the region is experiencing extreme drought or flooding, thorough preparation will help protect residents during and after a disaster. MNWD will also have District vehicles such as its Mobile Support Center and several of its service trailers onsite, in addition to Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Orange County Fire Authority, for all to see and enjoy. Additional event exhibitors and activities include cities and non-profit organizations, home and garden activities, gas and energy utilities, technology companies, and water and environmental services. Event sponsors include AKM Consulting Engineers, Dudek, Ferreira Construction, Kennedy Pipeline, Lee & Ro, Paulus Engineering, Rachio, and Tetra Tech.
