One Dead In Solo Crash In Laguna Niguel, Sheriff Investigates

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — One woman was killed as a result of a solo car crash in Laguna Niguel Wednesday afternoon, the Orange County Register reported.

The woman, who was not identified by authorities, reportedly suffered fatal injuries after her white Hyundai Kona crashed into a tree on the 25400 block of Camino Del Avion in Laguna Niguel at around 5:30 p.m. Authorities found a woman trapped inside of the car and found that she was dead, OC Sheriff spokesperson Sgt. Scott Steinle told the OC Register.

The investigation continued into the evening, prompting authorities to issue road closures on the northbound lanes of Camino Del Avion between Shipside Drive and Old Ranch Road. The closures were lifted after several hours Monday night.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation by the OCSD major accident reconstruction team, which is investigating the crash, according to the report.
