Ortega Highway Closed In Both Directions Thursday

DANA POINT, CA — Ortega Highway was closed in both directions early Thursday afternoon after a power line fell on the road.

The closure was reported on the California State route 74 just east of Antonio Parkway in Rancho Mission Viejo at 1:16 p.m.

It was not immediately known how long the closure would be in place, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes.

By 2 p.m., authorities reported that the closure had been lifted — but delays were still expected as crews work.
