Overturned Trash Truck Closes Ortega Highway
Ortega Highway near Antonio Parkway in San Juan Capistrano could be closed for several hours as crews clean trash spilled onto the road.

All lanes of Ortega Highway near Antonio Parkway in San Juan Capistrano had to be closed this afternoon when a big rig overturned, spilling a large amount of trash.
The truck -- hauling an open container filled with trash -- crashed about 12:20 p.m. on the highway just east of Antonio, said California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada.

The highway was completely closed in both directions for the investigation and cleanup. It could take hours to remove the garbage from the highway, Quesada said.
The driver escaped injury, she said.
