Public Access Limited At Capistrano Beach Through June
The Capistrano Beach Coastal Protection Repair Project will continue through early June 2023. Here's what to know.
DANA POINT, CA — The Capistrano Beach Coastal Protection Repair Project is underway, and Orange County Public Works crews will complete repairs and maintenance of Capistrano Beach Park.
Public access may be limited during construction, an OC Parks representative said. According to an OC Parks newsletter, work for the project includes:
- Removal of approximately 200 linear feet of sandcubes and other remnant material.
- Construction of a revetment from new and salvaged rock.
- Backfilling with sand from stockpile.
- Repairs to existing sandbag protection.
While the project is underway, residents can expect Capistrano Beach's parking lot to remain closed.

Construction started on April 25 and is expected to continue through Early June 2023, with crews on site from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
