Dana Point residents can expect a 20 percent chance of showers through Friday night, with thunder and lightning storms likely in the event that it rains.

On Saturday, a 50 percent chance of rain will bring thunderstorms and cloudy skies, the National Weather Service reported. The rain will likely continue on through Saturday night, along with cooler temperatures and light winds.

Weather experts predict that the rainy weather will stick around until Monday, when sunny skies and warmer weather returns to the region.

In Dana Point, residents can expect high temperatures in the low-'70s, and low temperatures in the '60s throughout the weekend, Accuweather reported.
