Rock Thrown From Overpass In South OC, Shatters Windshield: CHP

A man was driving near Capistrano Beach Thursday when his windshield was hit by a very large rock that authorities believe was thrown.

California Highway Patrol officers asked for the public's help in locating two suspect juveniles, after a man reported that his windshield was struck and shattered by a very large rock while driving on the Interstate 5 freeway Thursday.

DANA POINT, CA — California Highway Patrol officers asked for the public's help in locating two suspect juveniles, after a man reported that his windshield was struck and shattered by a very large rock while driving on the Interstate 5 freeway Thursday.

The incident was reported at around 4 p.m., when the driver of a Tesla was traveling on the freeway and exiting near Capistrano Beach. The driver said that the windshield of his car was struck by a large rock, and he believed the rock was thrown from the Via California overpass.

The driver of the Tesla was not injured, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers described the suspects as two juvenile white males. One has long dark blonde hair, authorities said, and was wearing a black shirt and gray pants at the time of the incident.
