Rush Hour At The Beach: Patch Photo Of The Day

Freeways are bumper to bumper, but this is how we do things in SoCal. A flock of pelicans seen from Dana Wharf whale watching vessel.

DANA POINT, CA — Now, this is my kind of rush hour traffic. Not bumper to bumper, but wingtip to wingtip as these pelicans glide northbound on the watery side of Coast Highway.

Mark Newman, wildlife and ocean photographer, began photographing marine life 20 years ago, by his assessment. He remains an avid whale watcher and shared his photos with Patch.
