Science Night Returns With Paleoclimatologist's Look At Our Past
Matthew Kirby, Cal State Fullerton Geological Sciences Professor, talks climate stories of our region at the next Dana Point Science Night!
DANA POINT, CA — What can the past tell us about the future? Local geologist and paleoclimatologist Matthew Kirby wants to answer those questions, from the point of view of sunny, dry southern California.
Kirby's lecture will focus on Southern Orange County's climate story, as told by lake sediments.
"Like pages in a history book, each layer of mud tells a history of our surrounding region," Kirby said. His work on the history of our California climate is funded by the National Science Foundation.
