Sewage Spill Closes This Dana Point Beach

A sewage spill left this Orange County waterway closed to water sports for at least three days, officials said.

DANA POINT, CA —On Monday, a 900-gallon sewage spill closed a section of the Dana Point Harbor, officials said. The Orange County Health Care Agency announced the sewage spill on the north side of the west basin in Dana Point Harbor at Baby Beach, Youth Dock, Guest Dock, and A through C docks, the agency reported.

The spill was caused by a blockage in a sewer line operated by the South Coast Water District, according to the HCA.

The affected ocean water area will remain closed to ocean water-contact sports for a minimum of three days, pending the results of follow-up water quality monitoring meet acceptable standards.
