South Coast Singers Concerts to feature Artists from “Across the Pond"
South Coast Singers will present their spring concerts on June 1 and June 7, featuring music by the Beatles and other British composers.

Popular local choral group South Coast Singers’ spring season will feature music from “Across the Pond” in two performances: Sunday, June 1 at 4 PM at South Shores Church in Dana Point, and Saturday, June 7 at 4 PM at Presbyterian Church of the Master in Mission Viejo. Tickets are $20 for adults and valid for either performance. Children under 10 are free. Tickets can be purchased online at the SCS website (available at Will Call) or in person at the venues.

Sixty volunteer vocalists perform in the group, singing four-to-eight-part harmony under the direction of seasoned Music Director Ray Medina, who also serves as Vocal Music Director for the South Orange County School of the Arts at Dana Hills High School. They are accompanied by pianist Brian O’Neill—South Coast Singers’ accompanist since 2002—and a talented orchestra.
According to South Coast Singers President Kris Reynolds, “This season’s program offers a vibrant musical journey showcasing some of the most influential British composers of the last century. From powerful solo features to rich, full ensemble numbers, audiences can expect a dynamic and heartfelt performance. Our goal is to bring enjoyment and cultural enrichment to the community and we’re proud to present a concert that highlights both the artistic range of our multi-generational singing group and the enduring impact of British music on global culture. Please join us!”

Founded in 1992 as the Capistrano Chorale—a group of ten women singing two-part harmony—the ensemble now includes sixty members of all ages and performs complex arrangements. South Coast Singers incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2000 and continues to captivate audiences with biannual concerts in June and December. Last December, the group performed three holiday concerts, including one with the South Coast Symphony.
Proceeds from concerts support performance costs and fund the group’s annual Stars of Tomorrow competition, where Orange County high school vocalists compete for prizes. Two current scholarship winners, Madison Becerra (June 1) and Enzo Passalacqua (June 7), will perform at the upcoming concerts.
