South OC Elementary School Locked Down Due To Intruder
A San Clemente elementary school was locked down Tuesday afternoon after an unknown man was reported on the campus.
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — A South Orange County elementary school was placed on a lockdown Tuesday afternoon after an unknown person was spotted on the campus, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.
The lockdown was issued at Las Palmas Elementary School in San Clemente, authorities said. According to the OCSD, the school was placed on lockdown after an "unknown individual" was seen on campus.
"Deputies responded and detained the individual," an OCSD statement read. "Students and staff were safe throughout the lockdown."

After the suspect was detained, authorities concluded that there was no threat to the campus.
