South OC Pizza Joint Claims International Pizza Competition: Report

DANA POINT, CA — A South Orange County pizzeria just won grand prize honors at the 2024 International Pizza Expo, after Truly Pizza in Dana Point claimed the high accolade in March, The Orange County Register reported.

The newspaper spoke with Truly Pizza kitchen manager and chef Sergio Balderas, who said his cheese pizza claimed the grand prize in the traditional pizza category.

"I knew I wanted to go in with a cheese pizza," Balderas told The OC Register. "I wanted to get Truly on the map."
