Bill Gates is immoral in his extensive charity efforts. I will tell you why in a minute but first some basic economic understanding is needed.
The top 85 wealthiest people have a combined worth that equal to the poorest 3.5 Billion people. This number is touted as a reason to redistribute wealth to make things fairer. But is this true? Will redistributing the wealth make things fairer? The biggest misconception is wealth is something that is sharable like a pie. But really it's more like a tree that can grow. Cutting off the big branches of the tree to aid the smaller branches just doesn't work. Wealth is created, (not taken), when the efficient use of limited resources are combined to produce a profit. Profits are a measure of successful allocation of limited resources. A loss is an indication that bad decisions were made in the use of limited resources. Those who lose money go out of the process and those that are wise enough to make or rather create wealth are rewarded with even more responsibility, (profits) to manage these limited resources.
The only other alternative is to allow the government to decide how to split up the limited resources among the citizens in a so called fair manner, or socialism. The problem here is that most of the resources are used up and squandered instead of used wisely to create more resources. This system has proven to fail every time.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet (and others) have the proven ability to manage limited resources and create wealth and productivity. They have a moral obligation to society to continue to make money because as they create wealth, they cause the economic tree to grow supporting many more smaller branches than otherwise would be possible. They essentially are creating lasting wealth for everyone. It is a moral crime against humanity to squander this productivity machine by giving the resources away to short term charity causes. They, in effect, have abandoned their God given ability and are acting with good intentioned, albeit detrimental socialist bureaucracy that robs so many of our united potential.
In nature things tend to occur in logarithmic curved fashion. These events can be graphed along a line that goes fairly flat for a long portion of the curve and at the very end it jumps up quickly. It is counterintuitive, but if you attempt to take from the top 1% by pushing the wealth down, you really will move the entire curve down substantially causing even more poverty along the entire curve. We need to celebrate and encourage the top 1% as they wisely combine the limited resources and create wealth for the entire spectrum of people, and if you want to move up the curve you too are free to create wealth by taking time, effort, skill, and wisdom, combining these together to make money, proving your success at helping the economy and enjoying the rewards thereof. We should enact a new holiday honoring our most successful capitalist because we owe them a depth of gratitude for their contribution to our current prosperity!
