Trash Pickup Delay Stinks For Laguna Niguel Residents

A fuel related problem caused delays on trash collection for residents of these south Orange County cities, CR&R said.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — Did you notice trash cans remained full at the end of the day, Tuesday? You're not alone. Many south county cities experienced a delay in trash pick up this week, due to emergency repairs at a fuel station, CR&R said.

Residents of Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Rancho Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente may have noticed their trash was not touched, Maria Lazaruk of CR&R said.

Trash pick up will be delayed by one day, and garbage regularly collected on Fridays in the affected communities will be picked up on Saturday this week, the OC Register reported.

"The company couldn't fuel its fleet of trucks in south County due to the unexpected repairs needed "at a liquefied natural gas fuel station," Lazaruk said.

Next week, trash pick up was expected to return to normal.
