DANA POINT, CA —Capistrano Beach residents and visitors have seen a plethora of blooms this summer, but nothing so lovely as the waxy blossom of the plumeria trees.

Known for their prevalence in Hawaii, this lovely flower has a heavenly scent that can transport you straight to the islands, right outside your back door. For Katie Armstrong, a resident of Capistrano Beach, it is something to stop and smell, and even better than a rose.

"I've noticed so many of my neighbors have beautiful plumeria blossoms this year!" she told Patch. "They are perfect flowers, and have such an amazing aroma."
