Victim In Violent Carjacking At OC Mall Was Whole Foods Employee

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — Authorities in Orange County Friday were searching for a man they say stabbed another man, said to be a grocery store employee, in an attempted carjacking Wednesday night.

The attack was reported outside the Whole Foods in the Aliso Viejo Shopping Plaza in Laguna Niguel, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies were dispatched to the parking lot on Aliso Creek Road shortly after 10 p.m. to reports of an attempted carjacking and stabbing, according to the OCSD.

Upon arrival, authorities found a man with injuries consistent with being stabbed. While the victim was not identified by name, he was described as a man in his 20s. He was moved to a local hospital in stable condition, deputies said.

NBCLA reported that Whole Foods employees told the news source that the victim was an employee of the store, but authorities could not confirm this information.
