Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza Brings Back Original Menu

The people have spoken! After launching a new menu last summer, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill is bringing back its original menu in response to passionate customer requests. You know you’ve got something good when you can evoke that kind of response! Many are getting fired up about the return of their favorites such as the Thai Chicken Pizza, Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese and the Chinese Chicken Salad.

Did you know that Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill first opened its doors in 1989 in La Jolla, California? They were also the first restaurant in San Diego with a wood burning oven and many credit Sammy's for introducing the artisanal specialty pizza trend here. Sammy’s cuisine is created using local, organic and nutritionally balanced ingredients wherever possible, and best of all its prepared without butter or artificial trans fats. They also have extensive gluten free and vegetarian options throughout their menu.

Below are the dishes that are returning to the menu and new favorites to be added: 

Sammy’s “Classics” have been added back to the menu: Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Thai Chicken Satays, Baba Ghanoush, Crab & Shrimp Dip, Crispy French Fries, Prosciutto Pizza, Five Cheese Pizza, Thai Chicken or Shrimp Pizza, Chinese Chicken Salad and Grilled Chicken & Hummus Wrap.

The following items have returned to its original recipe and preparations: Margherita Pizza (tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil), Garlic Chicken and Shrimp Pizza, The Original Chopped Chicken Salad, Chilled Roasted Vegetable Salad, Oak Roasted Salmon Filet, Tomato Angel Hair Pasta.

A few new favorites will be added to Sammy’s original menu, including: Japanese Style Chicken Meatballs, Shrimp & Grits and Burrata & Pesto Pizza.

Sammy's has 18 locations throughout California and Nevada including a Del Mar, Carlsbad, La Mesa, and of course the original and first location in La Jolla which has recently been remodeled.
