Best Bars In California For 2018: LIST

CALIFORNIA – From famous pubs to legendary cocktail lounges, California is home to plenty of places to grab a beer, wine or cocktail. But what are the best bars in the Golden State?

The Daily Meal set out to find the best bars in the country, ranking 150 bars from 42 states and the District of Columbia. New York state dominated this year's list with 28 establishments, but California came in second place with 18 spots making the cut, including two bars landing in the top 10.

The Daily Meal's "150 Best Bars in America" were selected by the food and drink website's editorial staff, who ranked the establishments based on drinks, mixology, bartenders, decor and experience, cuisine and other essentials.

• 112: No Vacancy at the Juniper Hotel, Hollywood
• 108: Dick's Place, Mendocino
• 103: 33 Taps, Los Angeles

• 98: Tiki-Ti, Los Angeles
• 66: The Varnish, Los Angeles
• 57: Sassafras Saloon, Los Angeles
• 46: Prizefighter, Emeryville
• 41: The Polo Lounge, Beverly Hills
• 36: Tommy's Mexican Restaurant, San Francisco
• 34: ABV, San Francisco
• 32: Altitude Sky Lounge, San Diego
• 26: Trick Dog, San Francisco
