Bicyclist Hurt In Crash Near UCSD
It happened just after 10 a.m. on La Jolla Shores Drive near Torrey Pines Road.
LA JOLLA, CA -- A 62-year-old bicyclist crashed Sunday near UC San Diego and was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
It happened just after 10 a.m. on La Jolla Shores Drive near Torrey Pines Road, according to San Diego police Sgt. Robert Hawkins. The intersection is on the western edge of the UC San Diego campus.
The man had been riding eastbound on La Jolla Shores Drive when he hit a bump in the road and crashed, Hawkins said. The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries including broken ribs, a fractured clavicle and a punctured lung.
