Wise Talk: Greinke Should Be Banned From Baseball for Life
Hitting a batter high and inside.

Yesterday in the game between the Padres and the Dodgers, the pitcher for the Dodgers, Greinke, threw a 90 MPH fastball at Padres hitter Quentin. These two have a history, with Greinke hitting Quentin and Quentin hitting homers off Greinke.
In today's U-T, columnist Jay Paris expressed the opinion that the act of charging the mound by Quentin, after being hit by a pitch, was thoughtless and selfish. That he was only thinking of himself and not of his team.
I vigorously disagree! The catcher for the Dodgers had called for a breaking ball, down and away. Instead, Greinke threw a 90 MPH fastball and hit Quentin high in the shoulder. If he had missed a little higher and more inside, Greinke would've hit Quentin in the head. That could've killed him.

I believe that Greinke should be banned from baseball for life. Any pitcher who throws high and inside to an opposing batter should be banished from the game. At that point it is no longer a game but a potentially killing practice, and should under no circumstances be tolerated. I'm just sorry that Greinke was not hurt more severely than merely having his clavicle broken. He brought that on himself and deserves what he got.
