Crews Halt Fire Burning In Canyon Near Homes In La Jolla
The fire spread over less than a half-acre, officials said.

LA JOLLA, CA – Firefighters quickly halted the spread of a brush fire burning near homes in La Jolla Friday.
The blaze broke out in a canyon off the 5400 block of Caminito Bayo, east of La Jolla Mesa Drive, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Ground and helicopter crews fought the flames, which spread over less than a half-acre, officials said. The blaze caused no reported structural damage or injuries.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
