Gillispie School's Grade 5 Students Volunteer at St. Vincent de Pauls

The Gillispie School's Grade 5 teachers recently arranged a community service project that allowed students to dedicate time to working with homeless families at St. Vincent de Paul's in downtown San Diego. There, the students spent time preparing and serving meals to residents and their children in the facility’s family kitchen.

A highlight of their experience was when the students were greeted by Father Joe, who headed up efforts to transform St. Vincent de Paul from a small warehouse facility to an organization that now aids thousands of homeless individuals each day.

The Gillispie School is truly proud of the work that these Grade 5 students accomplished. If you would like to learn more about the organization, or if you would like to find out more about community volunteer opportunities, visit the organization online at www.svdpv.org.
