The blowout bar trend sweeping the nation is coming to La Jolla with tomorrow's (June 15) grand opening of Glo Beauty Bar, located at 5707 La Jolla Blvd. in Bird Rock. This is the first West Coast location for owner Jessica Hanson, a long time San Diego businesswoman who also operates the flagship Glo Beauty Bar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The June 15 grand opening celebration will feature free blow-outs and makeup applications plus prizes and giveaways from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Complimentary food and cocktails from chef Daniel Boling will be served from 4 – 6 p.m.
“Our goal at Glo is to give women the beauty enhancements they crave in a short period of time to accommodate their busy schedules,” said Hanson, who noted that the Bird Rock salon will also offer custom airbrush tanning, makeup application, waxing, facials, chemical peels and eyelash extensions.

Designed by Christopher John Wetta, Glo’s soaring interior space feels modern and crisp with a sense of privacy and luxury. “I wanted to make sure that the clients felt that every trip to the salon was a treat, but it was also important to make sure that the space was calm and relaxing to create a home away from home for its clientele,” said Wetta.
