Greystone Hotels Expands Partnership with Stash Hotel Rewards

Adds Empress Hotel to Build on Success with Groups and Meetings

SAN FRANCISCO – September 4, 2013 - Greystone Hotels announced today that it has expanded its partnership with Stash Hotel Rewards by adding Empress Hotel La Jolla to the largest point-based rewards program in the U.S.  With this addition, Greystone Hotels grows its Stash Rewards footprint to 7 hotels in California, from San Francisco to San Diego.

“We appreciate being part of a loyalty program that not only allows us to reward our best guests, but also helps bring value back into each of our hotels,” said Jennifer Langham, SVP of Sales and Marketing for Greystone.  “We’ve won valuable meetings and events business by using Stash to incent business travelers and travel planners – a very competitive segment of the hospitality industry.

Greystone’s success using points in group negotiations was a key driver in its decision to add Empress Hotel to the Stash program.  For example, at The Bristol Hotel—a Greystone property in San Diego—sales managers were empowered to award bonus Stash points to meeting and event planners and attendees.  In 3 months, The Bristol Hotel won 6 new accounts, creating $49,208 in total revenue at a point cost of only $609 for a return on investment of nearly 8,000%.

“Points drive business,” said Jeff Low, Founder and CEO of Stash Hotel Rewards. “For years, chains have used rewards programs to give them an edge in competing for valuable groups and meetings.  Greystone Hotels has figured out how to fight back while remaining independent by using Stash points.”
