Intoxicated Woman Run Over, Seriously Injured In McDonald's Parking Lot

SAN DIEGO, CA – A drunk woman was seriously injured Thursday night in Bay Park when she was accidentally run over, San Diego police said.

Around 8:40 p.m., the 49-year-old woman walked out of a McDonald's restaurant at 3001 Clairemont Drive "very intoxicated," according to police.

It is unknown if she fell or lay down but police said she was on the ground in a parking stall next to a Mazda 3 car driven by a 53-year-old man.

The driver of the Mazda told police he got into his vehicle and did not see the woman on the ground. He backed out of the stall and pulled forward to feel a bump, when he saw that he had run over the woman, police said.

The woman was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries including a lacerated liver and fractured pelvis, police said. The San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
