La Jolla Blanks Santana 5-0 to Reach Soccer Semis
The Vikings girls team improves to 12-4-3 with the quarterfinals shutout of the Sultans.
The second-seeded La Jolla High girls soccer team had no trouble advancing to the CIF San Diego Section Division III semifinals Saturday, shutting down Santana High 5-0 in a quarterfinals game on the Vikings' field.
Senior captain Callan Parra had two goals for the Vikings, with Elisa Brooks, Melanie Lock and Karly Zlatic adding the other scores. La Jolla improved to 12-4-3 while the Sultans end their season at 15-10-1.
La Jolla will play again Wednesday at 5 p.m. on its home field against Our Lady of Peace (8-11-2), which upset third-seeded Canyon Crest 1-0 on Saturday.

The Vikings' boys team also reached the semifinals and improved to 11-8-3 with a 1-0 win Friday night over San Diego Southwest High.
