Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash on Torrey Pines Road.

LA JOLLA, CA – A woman investigators believe may have been intoxicated was seriously injured when she crashed her motorcycle in La Jolla, police said.

The 55-year-old was riding northbound in the 3100 block of Torrey Pines Road around 8:30 p.m. Monday when she veered into the center median, San Diego police Sgt. Ed Zwibel said. It wasn't known why she swerved into the median and no other vehicles were involved.

The woman suffered an open fracture to her left leg and a fractured pelvis, Zwibel said. Traffic division officers were investigating the crash, and alcohol was believed to have been a factor.
