Norma Jean is a 6-1/2-year-old, 8-pound, female, Domestic Medium Hair - Siamese / Muted Calico mix cat. She was surrendered to Rancho Coastal Humane Society when her owner could no longer keep her.
She didn’t like the cattery, so Norma Jean went into foster care with a trained RCHS volunteer. Her foster says Norma Jean is nervous meeting strangers and that she enjoys watching Cat TV.
Norma rarely leaves her cat tower, but when the fosters are in the kitchen or family room, she follows them to ask for attention.

Special note.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Pets left behind are likely to become the new victims. Rather than make their pets the targets, human victims stay. The Animal Safehouse Program at Rancho Coastal Humane Society is the safety net for the animal victims of Domestic Violence.
ASP works with police, social services, friends, and families. Once victims know that their pets are safe, they can escape.
Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women 15 to 44.
Three to four million women in America are beaten in their homes each year.
One fourth of the women in America will experience domestic violence.
Battering occurs in all races, ages, socio-economic classes, religions, occupations, and education levels. Once someone batters, they're going to do it again.
