Pedestrian Killed In University City Identified
The 38-year-old died Thursday evening while crossing an I-805 ramp, officials said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities Monday identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on an Interstate 805 transition ramp near the University City area.
Edward John Quijada Jr., 38 of San Diego, was walking westbound across the northbound I-805 transition ramp to state Route 52 around 6 p.m. Thursday when he was struck, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to the California Highway Patrol.
