Persons of Interest Sought In Pacific Beach Hit-And-Run

BREAKING: Investigators learned the pedestrians were struck by a car shortly after they were in an altercation with a man and a woman.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities released a surveillance image Wednesday of two persons of interest in a hit-and-run Aug. 5 in Pacific Beach that left pedestrians injured.

According to a San Diego County Crime Stoppers bulletin, the hit-and-run occurred at about 1:09 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5 when a silver four-door sedan traveling eastbound in the 900 block of Garnet Avenue struck three men who were crossing the roadway.

The vehicle reportedly fled the scene and drove eastbound on Garnet.

Meanwhile, the three men struck by the car were hospitalized for treatment of lacerations, fractures and brain injuries.

Investigators learned through follow-up that minutes before the victims were struck by the vehicle, the victims were involved in an altercation with a man and woman.

Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the male and female in the surveillance image, as well as the vehicle driven in the incident.

The male person of interest is described as Hispanic, in his 20s, with long hair pulled into a bun. The female person of interest is described as black, in her 20s, with long hair and wearing a light-colored sleeveless top and dark pants.

Based on evidence collected from the scene, investigators believe the vehicle involved was a newer model silver four-door Hyundai Elantra with stock brushed aluminum wheels. The car may have damage to its front end area, including the grill, hood and windshield.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the persons of interest or the suspect vehicle is asked to call SDPD’s Traffic Division at 858-495-7813 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent via Sdcrimestoppers.org.
