Spaces Available for Week 1 Summer Camps - June 17- 21!

The Gillispie School is located in the village of La Jolla and offers a summer program with a wide range of creative and educational classes for students from all elementary schools.

Fencing with Team Touche!

9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Grades 2-6, $225

EN GUARDE? READY? FENCE! Team Touché helps refine free swinging students into deft deflectors and Z -carving virtuosos (with foam swords) while providing a fun and engaging fitness activity. Discover the basics of swordsmanship and learn French and Italian terminology embedded in this classical sport. Wow parents and friends on the last day during our Olympic -style fencing tournament. All participants receive awards after the tournament. Tedd Padgitt is Head Coach of Team Touché and is the 2005 West Coast Champion. Click here for more info.

9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Grades K- 4, $225

Get your game on! Leave the online gaming screens at home to play beloved and rare indoor and outdoor games. You may know Uno, four square, and the card game Spit, but have you played Avalanche, Hi Spot, Black Box, or Hive? The focus of the class will be on working collaboratively, building gaming skills, and thinking strategically, all while having fun. Click here for more info.

Mr. Joe’s Chess Class: Where Chess Rocks!

9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Grades K-6, $225

Summer chess class at Gillispie! Children will learn how to play chess through fun, active, and hands on lessons. They will learn the value and placement of each piece. Come and play the game on a giant chessboard! Computers will be used to host exercises, solving checkmates and individual matches. Prizes will be given to all students. Click here for more info.
