Student Arrested In La Jolla High School Shooting Threat: Police

The 15-year-old was taken into custody off-campus Friday, officials said.

LA JOLLA, CA – A student was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot up La Jolla High School, authorities confirmed. The 15-year-old boy, a student at the school, was taken into custody off-campus Friday morning, according to San Diego police.

Police searched the suspect's home and did not find any firearms, officials said. The suspect was placed into juvenile hall.

The incident remains under investigation.

At least six other juvenile arrests have taken place in the San Diego area – three this week – amid numerous threats reported nationwide in the aftermath of last month's mass-casualty shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

None of the local threats so far were believed to be credible, officials said.
