Surf Town Triathlon and Duathlon Results and Photos
More than 400 people participated in the event including 11 La Jollans that went from Naval Outlying Landing Field to the beach in Imperial Beach.
In its 23rd year, the Surf Town Triathlon and Duathlon took place Sunday morning in Imperial Beach. The triathlon was a 500-meter swim, 15K bike ride and 5K run. The Duathlon was a 1,500-meter run and 15K Bike followed by a 5K run.
More than 300 people took part in the triathlon and about 100 participated in the duathlon.
Overall best time went to Charles Karstrom of La Jolla with a 47:27 finish time in the triathlon.

Amongst about a 11 competitors from La Jolla, Nick Sigmon placed second overall with a finish time of 49:05, less than two minutes behind Karstrom.
