The Children's School Goes One Day Without Shoes

Students at The Children's School learned what it felt like to live without shoes on Friday. The school participated in TOMS Shoes' annual One Day Without Shoes a little early.

Feet of all shapes, sizes, colors and even smells participated in One Day Without Shoes, an awareness campaign by TOMS Shoes, on Friday at . The campus pulled off their shoes and socks for the event, whose goal is to spread awareness of the millions of children around the world that don't have shoes. The school went barefoot a little early due to Spring Break. The annual international event is April 10.

Teachers at the school built lesson plans around the event and encouraged students to experience life without protection for just one day. 

Numerous companies and celebrities have pulled off their kicks for One Day Without Shoes. Companies include AOL (Patch's parent company), Deloitte and Nordstrom. Some celebrities that have participated are Donna Karan, Lenny Kravitz and Charlize Theron. TOMS reported that 1,400 companies and 500 schools participated in the event last year. In addition, more than 1,000 events were planned across 25 countries.
