UCSD Grad Programs Top U.S. News And World Report's Rankings

LA JOLLA, CA – Several UC San Diego programs earned spots Tuesday on U.S. News and World Report's ranking of the nation's top graduate schools.
The magazine's Best Graduate Schools Guidebook ranks the Jacobs School of Engineering 13th and the School of Medicine 18th among research-intensive programs, and the political science program ninth overall, but fourth when it comes to a specialty in international politics.
"It is an honor to have UC San Diego's graduate programs recognized, across the board, for demonstrating excellence in research, education and service to students," Chancellor Pradeep Khosla said. "UC San Diego is dedicated to recruiting the best scholars and giving the highest quality of learning in an environment that embraces risk-taking, collaboration and innovation."

UC San Diego's biomedical/bioengineering specialty in the School of Engineering was ranked third. Economics was ranked 12th and psychology came in 13th.
Across town at the University of San Diego, the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science Master's Program in Nursing was ranked 28th in the nation, up six spots from a year ago. The program is ranked second in California.

"Our nursing school continues to be one of the world's finest, and this is due to a stellar faculty, very talented students, a remarkably esthetic setting and our school's special spirit," Sally Brosz Hardin, dean of the USD Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science said.
