<p>SAN DIEGO, CA -- A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car at a University City mall entrance. It happened shortly before 1 p.m. as a 38-year-old man driving a Hyundai sedan entered the Westfield UTC parking lot at Esplanade Court, according to Officer Sarah Foster of the San Diego Police Department.</p> <p>The driver collided with a woman walking through the parking lot, and she received life-threatening injuries to her head and left leg, Foster said.</p> <p>Police don't suspect drugs or alcohol are factors, but are still investigating the matter.</p> <p><em>--City News Service/Shutterstock image</em></p>
