Karen Leigh Matthews is running as an Independent for Congress in California’s 23rd District, which is currently represented by Trump rubberstamp Jay Obernolte.

Karen is not a typical candidate. She puts SERVING first and DESERVING second. She served more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a physician and later started a small business helping veterans navigate the system to receive the benefits they earned. She is certainly well-versed on all matters regarding our flawed healthcare system, particularly access to it. And veterans are particularly close to her heart.

I think she would be a great fit for your audience, particularly for a conversation around:

• What it actually means to run as an independent today
• Why voters are losing trust in both parties
• The real economic pressure people are feeling (beyond headlines)
• Her experience serving in the Navy and working in healthcare

CA-23 is almost evenly split, roughly a third Republican, a third Democrat, and a third independent or No Party Preference, which creates a rare, genuine opening for an independent candidate to win.
