1 Person Killed In Menifee Crash Involving SCE Truck

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash, Menifee police said.

MENIFEE, CA — A man killed in a Menifee crash involving a Southern California Edison utility truck was identified over the weekend by the coroner's bureau.

Taylor Williamson, 54, of Homeland, was pronounced dead at the crash scene just after 8 p.m. Friday on Menifee Road, north of McLaughlin Road.

According to the Menifee Police Department, Williamson was behind the wheel of a 2024 Toyota Prius, heading north on Menifee Road.

At the same time, an SCE truck towing a wooden electrical pole was making a left turn from the driveway of an Edison substation on Menifee Road.

The two vehicles crashed, and the Prius struck the electrical pole, according to the police department.

Within minutes, Williamson was pronounced dead by first responders. He was the Prius's sole occupant. No other injuries were reported.

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash, Menifee police said.

"The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation," according to the agency.
